KY Deed Bk C, p 38 Hugh SNELLING Instrument of Writing ANTHONY Know all men by these presents that I Hugh SNELLING of the County of Nelson and State of Kentucky for divers Courses and Considerations __ thereunto moving do this day emancipate and set free from Slavery my Negroe man named Anthony who is hereby as free to all intent and purposes as if born free, neither myself nor my heirs is ever hereafter to him any power or dominion over the said Anthony. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my Seal this 22nd day of September 1803.
