Hugh SNELLING Instrument of Writing ANTHONY

Know all men by these presents that I Hugh SNELLING of the County of 
Nelson and State of Kentucky for divers Courses and Considerations __ 
thereunto moving do this day emancipate and set free from Slavery my 
Negroe man named Anthony who is hereby as free to all intent and purposes 
as if born free, neither myself nor my heirs is ever hereafter to him 
any power or dominion over the said Anthony.  In Testimony whereof I have 
hereunto Set my hand and affixed my Seal this 22nd day of September 
1803.

Washington County Sct.  I John Reed Clerk of the County Court for the 
County aforesaid do hereby Certify that on the day of the date hereof 
this Instrument of Writing was proved before me in my office by the 
within named Hugh SNELLING to be his act and Deed and thereupon admitted to 
Record.  In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set our hand this 2nd day 
of January 1804
