Thomas Anton, aged 61 years, widely known merchant at Sideview, died at his home Saturday night at 8:30 o'clock, following a long illness. Mr. Anton was a native of Syria, but had made his home in this county for many years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was widely known and highly esteemed. He was known as an honorable, upright, hard-working citizen and stood high in his section of the county. He is survived by his wife, who before marriage was Miss Mary Staggs, and one brother, John Anton, both of whom live at Sideview. Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church this morning at 9 o'clock, with services conducted by Rev. Father James O'Melia. Burial followed in St. Thomas Cemetery.
