Capitola Blanche Deacon was born on 25 November 1868 in Meade County, Kentucky 
to Francis Marion Deacon and Alice Jolly Basham.  She was the second wife of 
John Henry Avitt, whom she married in Meade County, Kentucky, on 18 August 
1895.  He first married Sarah Elizabeth Beauchamp, with whom he had 2 
children.  Capitola did not have any children of her own.  She is buried at 
Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Lodiburg, Breckinridge County, Kentucky.  
The informant identified on the death certificate, Mrs. H.J. Roberts, is 
Capitola's sister Mattie Myrtle Deacon Roberts, wife of Herbert J. Roberts.
