To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Bacon.William.1896.Barren.OBIT William Bacon 1896 Barren County KyArchives Obituaries Glasgow (KY) Weekly Times, 4 Nov 1896. "Mr. William Bacon Dead. Mr. Wm. Bacon died at him home near Haywood last Monday. Mr. Bacon had been desperately ill with typhoid fever for some time, and his death was not unexpected by his friends. He lost a daughter with the same disease a few weeks since, and a second daughter has been critically ill, but is now recovering. "Bill Bacon, s he was familiary known among his friends, was one of the best men and citizens of Barren county. He was one of the quietest, most modest, and most unassuming of human beings, but in every respect he was a manly man. By strict attention to his affairs he had made a home for his family and was accumulating a store of this world's goods in his own honest, hardworking ways. It is not likely that there was a more industrious farmer in all Barren county, and certainly there was none that owed his success to entirely his own unaided industries. "To human minds, it is a misfortune that such staunch citizens, such manly, upright honorable men, as Bill Bacon has proven himself to be should be lost to the world. "The sincere sympathy of all who know them goes out to the widow and orphans in their lostt of an affectionate husband and father."
