From: KyArchives Sent: Wednesday, March 19, 2014 10:56 PM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Baker.James-Hubbard.William.1835.Garrard.DEED James Baker - William Hubbard October 31, 1835 Garrard County KyArchives Deed Written: October 31, 1835 Recorded: October 31, 1835 Garrard County, Kentucky Deed Book L, pages 471-472 No. 564 William Hubbard & ux. to James Baker This Indenture made this 31st day of Oct. in the year of our Lord 1835, between William Hubbard and Henrietta his wife of the County of Owen and State of Indiana of the one part and James Baker of the county of Garrard and State of Kentucky of the other part, Witnesseth that the said William Hubbard and Henrietta his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said James Baker, the receipt whereof is hereby ackn'd. have this day, granted bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, and convey to the said James Baker his heirs and assigns, a certain tract of land lying in the County of Garrard and State afsd., and on the waters of Scotts fork of Pt. Lick Creek, which said land was conveyed to said Hubbard by the sd. Baker, and which is bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at a Hickory on a Hill side, thence N87E 54 poles to a stake in the big road, thence with the meanders of the said road S4E 52 poles, S45E 10 poles, S55°E 16 poles, S8W 23 poles to a stake in said road, W 70 poles to a sugar tree, thence N60W 20 poles, to an ash tree, Hubbards Corner thence with him to the beginning makeing 43 acres. Also one other piece of land adjoining the afsd. tract containing one acre. Beginning at a Hickory on a hill side thence N10W 16 poles to a poplar in a hollow, thence up the hollow S55E 25½ poles to the junction of the afsd. survey, thence to the beginning. To have and to hold the afsd. bargained and sold land, and premises together with all and singular the appertanances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said James Baker his heirs and assigns forever, And the said Will Hubbard and Henrietta his wife do further covenant and agree to and with the said James Baker, that they will warrent and defend the afsd. land and premises, from the claim of themselves, their Heirs and assigns, and all and evry other person or persons claiming the same, unto the said James Baker his heirs and assigns forever. In testimony whereof the said Will Hubbard and Henrietta his wife have hereunto set their hands and seales the day and year first above written.
