MRS. MARTHA BASHAM 
Lodiburg, Ky., June 1, (Special[)] -- 
Mrs. Martha Basham, wife of the late F. M. Basham, died Monday, May 25, 1925, 
at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. J. Keys, and Mr. Keys. She was 78 years 
old, and is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Andrew Keys, of Lodiburg, Mrs. 
Peyton Basham, of King City, Mo., and Mrs. Edward Kroush, of Waverly, Ill., 
besides several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of friends. 
Funeral and burial were at Walnut Grove. Services conducted by the Rev. I. C. 
Argabright.

Martha Jane ("Mattie") Stiff was the daughter of Nathaniel Stiff and Elizabeth 
Ann Robertson, and was born 17 January 1847 in either Meade or Breckinridge 
County, Kentucky (sources conflict).  She married Francis Marion Basham, son of 
Francis Basham and Thursia Hardin, on 20 September 1870 in Meade County, 
Kentucky.
