All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/kyfiles.html ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: William McGuire http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00022.html#0005431 March 20, 2008, 6:20 pm Written: April 25, 1791 Recorded: April 25, 1791 Mercer County, Kentucky Deed Books, Vol: 1, page 239, 1791 This Indenture made this 25th day of April anno Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety One Between John McGuire and Ann his wife of the county of Mercer and the State of Virginia of the one part and William Bassett of the other part, Witnesseth that the said John McGuire and Ann his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Sixty pounds current money of Virginia to them paid the receipt whereof they doth hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained sold unto the said William Bassett his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land in Mercer County lying on the West side of Dicks River containing One Hundred and Five acres by estimation be the same more or less and bounded as followeth, To Wit; Beginning at Two White oaks on the Clifts of Dicks River thence South Eighty degrees West Two Hundred and Fifteen poles to a Red oak and White Oak on a dry branch thence down the same South Thirty Two poles to an Elm and Two Ash saplins at the mouth of a small spring branch thence down the same as it meanders to Dicks River thence down Dicks River Clift as it meanders to the beginning, together with all its appurtenances there unto belonging to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances unto the said William Bassett his heirs and assigns forever and the said John McGuire and Ann his wife doth for them selves and their heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend against the claim or demand of any other person or persons whatsoever in witness whereof the said John McGuire and Ann his wife have subscribed their names and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.
