From: KyArchives Sent: Wednesday, March 19, 2014 11:34 PM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Beaumont.William-Hubbard.John.1833.Garrard.DEED William Beaumont - John Hubbard October 14, 1833 Garrard County KyArchives Deed Written: October 14, 1833 Recorded: October 15, 1833 Garrard County, Kentucky Deed Book L, page 185-186 This Indenture of bargain and Sale made and entered into the 14th day of October in the year 1833 between John Hubbard and Elizabeth his wife of the one part, and William Beaumont of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Hubbard and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred and twenty five Dollars, to them in hand paid by the said William Beaumont, the receipt whereof they the said John Hubbard and wife hereby acknowledge, the said John Hubbard and Elizabeth his wife have granted bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant bargain and sell and confirm unto the said William Beaumont and unto his heirs or assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Garrard County Kentucky, on the waters of Sugar Creek containing by survey thirty seven and a half acres, and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at two Beeches on Lapsleys line thence N13W 28 poles to a sugar tree, thence N74W 94 poles to a stake 10 feet north of a Sugar tree, thence S18½W 82 poles to a white walnut near a hollow, thence S41½E 10 poles to a dogwood lynn and Sugar, Wm. Hubbards corner, thence with him N78E 124 poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land unto the said William Beaumont, and unto his heirs or assigns forever and the said John Hubbard hereby covenants with the said William Beaumont that he will Warrant and forever defend the said tract of land and the said William Beaumont free from the claim or claims of all persons claiming the same in any manner whatever. In Witness whereof the said John Hubbard and Elizabeth his wife hath hereunto set their names and affixed their seals the day and year first above written. Wm. [sic] Hubbard and Elizabeth his wife to William Beaumont was produced to me in my office on the 15th day of Oct. 1833 and ack'd by the said Hubbard & wife to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned, and the said Elizabeth his wife being by me examined privaly and apart from her said husband declared that she did freely and willingly sign seal and deliver said writing and acknowledged the said writing again shown and explained to be her act and deed and wishes not to retract it and consented that the same may be recorded, and the same together with this certificate is truly admitted to Record.
