Bevins.Kelsie.1984.Pike.OBIT KELSIE BEVINS August 14, 1984 Kelsie Marie Bevins, 60, of Phyllis, was dead on arrival at the Pikeville Methodist Hospital at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in Pike County on March 8, 1924, a daughter of Sam Lowe of Columbus, Ohio, and the late Easter Justice Lowe. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and was a World War II Army veteran. Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, William Kenner Bevins; three sons, Jerry M. Bevins of Phyllis, Paul M. Bevins of Hickory, NC, Samuel Joe Bevins of Pikeville; one brother, Eugene Lowe of Mansfield, Ohio; three sisters, Dorothy Mercer of Springfield, Ohio, Mavis Goff of London, Ohio, Edna Goff of Breuard, NC.; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 17, in the Grapevine Primitive Baptist Church with Primitive Baptists ministers officiating and burial following in the Bevins Cemetery at Phyllis.
