BLACKFORD was a Union Miner, and was at work when death came in the mine. The remains were taken to Hawesville for interment. Mr. BLACKFORD leaves a wife and one child, and had a $1,000.00 Insurance in the Equitable Company. No blame is attached to the Auburn Ash Coal Company for the disaster, which is the first of its kind at the company's mine since first developed 4 years ago.
