Bocock-from-Moorman.1834.Lawrence.DEED 17 July 1834 Grantee was Elijah Bocock and the Grantor was Washington Moorman. The parcel of land contained fifty (50) acres and Elijah paid fifty dollars ($50.00) for the property. (Reference: Lawrence County, Kentucky Deed Book B; page 325) This Indenture made and entered into this 17th day of July one thousand eight hundred and thirty-four between Washington Moorman of the one part and Elijah Bocock of the other part all of the County of Lawrence and State of Kentucky. Witnesseth that the said Moorman for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath this day bargained and sold and by these present do bargain sell, grant, alien, assign and confirm unto the said Elijah Bocock his heirs or assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being with the County of Lawrence aforesaid and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning on the East side of the right line a fork of Durbans Creek at a hickory and burch thence South 23? East 30 poles to beach South 43 East 98 poles to a sugar and black oak South 21 West 47 poles to a stake North 60? West 120 poles to a stake North 25? East 93 poles to the beginning containing fifty acres to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its thereunto belonging unto the said Elijah Bocock, his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims, executors, administrators and assign against the claim or claims of the said Moorman, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns and all and every other person or persons whatsoever do the warrant and forever defend.
