Bocock-from Sperry.1829.Lawrence.DEED 18 February 1829 Grantee was Elijah Bocook and Samuel Sperry was the Grantor. The tract contained q 80 acres. (Reference: Lawrence County, Kentucky Deed Book A Page 319) This Indenture was entered into the 18th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine between Samuel Sperry and his wife of one part and Elijah Bocock of the other part and both of the County of Lawrence and State of Kentucky. Witnessth that the said Samuel Sperry hath bargained and sold unto Elijah Bocock a certain tract or parcel of land containing q 80 acres, it being a part of one hundred acres survey that made to said Sperry the 24th day of February 1827 laying and being in the County of Lawrence aforesaid on the Elk Creek or near _________ fork of Big Blaine as follows: Beginning at the first ___________ ___________ near at a sugar tree and two beeches South 78 West 100 poles to a double maple thence due West 16 poles North 58? West 34 poles to an elm and beech North 61? West 26 poles to a white oak North 88? West 58 poles to a white North 68? 56 poles to a beach North 34? West 70 poles to a beech North 80? West 40 poles to the oaks South 22? West 40 poles to a stake North 81? East 39 poles to a stake South 40? East 79 poles to a stake North 85? East 34 poles to a stake due North 42 poles to the Beginning with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Elijah Bocock to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land unto him the said Bocock and his heirs and the said Sperry ________ and defends the same from all person or persons claiming ________ heir? (him) but against the claim of no other person whatsoever who may have an older and better title.
