From: KyArchives Sent: Wednesday, March 19, 2014 11:23 PM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Bomount.Linsey-Hubbard.William.1833.Garrard.DEED Linsey Bomount - William Hubbard October 29, 1833 Garrard County KyArchives Deed Written: October 29, 1833 Recorded: October 29, 1833 Garrard County, Kentucky Deed Book L, page 195 This Indenture made and entered into this twenty-ninth day of October in the year 1833 by and between William Hubbard and Reta his wife on the one part and Linsey Bomount all of the County of Garrard and State of Kentucky, Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Four Hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the afsd. William Hubbard and Reta his wife have this day bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain, sell, alien release and convey to the afsd. Linsey Bomount his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Garrard on the waters of Scotts fork of Sugar Creek and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at two beeches running thence S13E 149½ poles to a poplar stump, thence S74°W 40 poles to a beech thence N40½W 170½ poles to a dogwood Sugar tree and Lynn thence N74E 124 poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the afsd. tract or parcel of land with all and singular the appurtanances thereunto belonging, to him the afsd. Linsey Beaumont his heirs and from them the afsd. [the words "Linsey Boumont" are crossed out] Wm. Hubbard [the words "his heirs" are crossed out] and Reta his wife their heirs and assigns forever and the afsd. William Hubbard doth hereby covenant to warrent and defend the title to said land against the claim or claims of evry person claiming by through or under him or against the claim or claims of all and evry person whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said William Hubbard has hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal this 29th day of October in the Year 1833. Certify that the foregoing deed of conveyance from William Hubbard and Reta his wife was produced to me in my office on the 29th day of October 1833 and ackn'd. by the said William Hubbard to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the said Reta his wife being by me examined privaly and apart from her said husband declared that she did freely and willingly sign seal and deliver said writing and said writing being again shown and explained she did freely voluntarily and willingly relinquish her right of dower in the land conveyed in said deed, without threats or persuasion of her husband and wishes not to retract it and consented that the same might be recorded and the same is truly admitted to record.
