"Funeral sevices for James Virgil Booher, 81, a retired farmer of the Burkesville vicinity, were held on Wednesday, Ballou Funeral Home was in charge with Rev. Monroe Lowe, assisted by Rev. Elwood Norris. Interment was in the Booher Cemetery. Mr. Booher passed away at the Cumberland County Hospital at 6:25 am on Tuesday, May 26, 1970. He was born in Cumberland County on May 22, 1889 and was a member of the Seminary Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Della Mae Cash Booher; four sons, Everett and WIllie Booher, both of Louisville, Joe and Ilus Jr., both of Burkesville; four daughters, Mrs. Dora Johnson and Mrs. Catherine Booher, both of Burkesville; Mrs. Sallie Brierly, Carson, Iowa; Mrs. Hazel Smith, Tallassee [sic], Alabama; also 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Adrian Teal, Elmer Cash, Edgar Elmore, J. E. Williams, Ilus Claywell, Jimmie Riddle. Ballou Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements."
