Danville Advocate Messenger, 28 May 2002 LANCASTER -- Joe R. Bourne, 85, of Seminole Trail, Danville, formerly of Lancaster, died Saturday in Garrard County.
He was the son of the late Aubrey and Molly Blanks Bourne. He was a retired correctional officer and a member of Lancaster Baptist Church and Lancaster Disabled American Veterans Chapter 25.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Bourne; a son, Joseph Mark Bourne of Danville; two brothers, Paul Bourne of Louisville and Irvin Bourne of New Albany, Ind.; two sisters, Nellie Jones of LaGrange and Shelby Anderson of Lancaster; and two grandchildren.
Services will be noon Wednesday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Jim Cook. 
Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18 of the American Legion.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.
