H. deed of conveyance This Indenture made this the 24th day of March 1854 betwen William R. Bowman of the County of Boyle & State of Kentucky of the first part and James H. McGinnis of the County of Boyle and State aforesaid of the second part, Witnesseth That for and in consideration fo the sum of Three Thousand Two hundred and Eighty Dollars the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the said William R. Bowman hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grants bargain sell alien and convey unto the said Jas. H. Mcginnis and his heirs ansd assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land situate and beaing [sic] in the County of Boyle and bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at a Stone corner to W. Rains thence South two East seventy five poles to two Sugar trees a corner to said Jas. H. McGinnis thence North Eighty Eight E one hundred and forty Nine poles to a stone corner to said McGinnis thence North fifty eight E forty seven poles to a white oak another corner of said Mcginnis thence North twenty two West fifty seven poles to a point in W. Rains field thence South Eighty Six and a half West one hundred and sixty eight and a half poles to the beginning containing Eighty Two Acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the land aforesaid with the exception of the Northeast corner sold To W. Rains bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at the south West corner of the Hickman farm thence west to the center of the creak [sic] thence meandering with said creek to Wm. Rains line containing one acre and a half more or less, Together with all and Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining, to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Jas. H. McGinnis and his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part for themselves their heirs executors &c doth by these presents covanant [sic] and agree to forever warrant and defend the title to the aforesaid land and appurtenances against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof they have hath hereunto set their hand and seal this the day and year above written. W. R. Bowman (Seal) Lucy C. Bowman (Seal) State of Kentucky) Boyle County ) Sct. I John B. Akin, Clerk of the Boyle County Court, do certify that the foregoing deed from W. R. Bowman & Lucy C. his wife to James H. McGinnis was on the 24th day of March 1854 produced to my deputy J. B. H. Latimer in the County aforesaid, and acknowledged by the said W. R. Bowman to be his act & deed and acknowledged & relinquished according to law by the said Lucy C. Bowman as appears from an endorsement made thereon in the hand writing of my said deputy in these words, to wit, "1854 March the 24 Ackn'd by W. R. Bowman and Feme relinquished by Mrs. Lucy C. Bowman his wife Attest Jno. B. Akin Clk By J. B. H. Latimer D.C." And afterwards, to wit, on the 15th of May 1854 ordered to record by said McGinnis. Whereupon, the said deed, together with this certificate, hath been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 15th day of May 1854. Jno. B.
