News feb. 1955 Edition Rowan County Resident Hiram Bradley Dies Funeral Rites Wednesday Hiram Bradley 90 a former Kentucky educator and Jurist died at King's Daughters' Hospital Monday at 6:30 P.M after an illness of ten days. He resided with his son Arthur M. Bradley on Forest Avenue. The body was removed to the Lazear Funeral Home where friends may call after 6:00 pm today. The funeral services will be conducted at noon Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Joseph s. Faulkner will officiate and burial will be in the Lee Cemetery at Morehead KY. Mr. Bradley was born Dec. 25th 1865 in Rowan County Ky a son of the late Solomon and Letitia Wells Bradley. he served as superintendent of Rowan county schools in 1901 and was later elected as County Judge. he moved to Joplin Mo. in 1912 and entered the lead and zincmining industry. he also served as police judge for two terms at Joplin. mr. Bradley retired in 1949 and at that time was serving as an automobile inspector. He was a 50 year member of the Morehead Masonic order and a member of the Scottish Rite and the Knight Templar. Surviving him are his sons Major James Marshall Bradley of Fort Lee Va and Arthur M. Bradley; two sisters L.A Rhodes Palm Beach Florida and Mrs. M. Paxton Davis Morehead. One brother William D. Bradley of Morehead, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive him.
