Brashears.Lafayette.1938.Perry.OBIT Lafayette M. Brashears 4 Oct 1938 Perry Co. Obituaries Monday, Oct. 4, 1938, Middletown, Ohio newspaper. Lafayette M. Brashears, 85, died at 10:50 A.M. Monday, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Gentry, of 2213 Crescent Boulevard. A resident of Middletown three years, he came here from Kentucky upon retiring from farming. His wife died several years ago. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gentry, and Miss Georgia Brashears, of this city, one son, William Brashears of Danville, Ill., three grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Sally Cornett and one brother Hezzy Brashears of Irwin, Ky. He was a member of the Christian Church of Kentucky, most of his life. Arrangements for the funeral are incomplete. Tues. Oct. 5, 1938 Brashears - Lafayette M., 85, died Mon, at residence 2213 Crescent Blvd. The body will be sent to Viper, Ky, Tuesday for services and burial Wednesday. Walter N. McCoy , funeral director. (note: Mr. Brashears first wife Joannah Baker Brashears died in 1927 in Middletown, Oh. They were divorced in 1900.
