He was born on March 31, 1929 in Laurel County to the late Charles N. and Margaret F. Chesnut Brewer. A graduate of Lynn Camp High School, he was a retired Industrial Electrician with Micro Devices. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Corbin and a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Brewer. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Faulkner Brewer whom he was married to for over 49 years; two sons, Donnie Brewer and Mike Brewer and his wife, "Winkie" both of Corbin; one daughter, Teresa Brewer Lundy and her husband, Kenny of Corbin; seven grandchildren, Calvin Brewer, Camie Brewer, Rhonda Brewer, Laura Lundy, Holly Lundy, Kacy and Keith Brewer and their mother, Robin S. Brewe r; a great-grandson, Tyler Austin Brewer; one brother, Dennis Doyle Brewer and his wife, Thelma of Corbin; two sisters, Carmen and Kathleen Brewer, both of Corbin; a special brother-in-law, Rex Faulkner; also several nieces and nephews to mourn his passing. He will also be missed by his special friends at Arby's - LeAnn, Linda, Pat, Lisa, Tina, Felicia, and Andrew. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 29 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton and Rev. Charles Spice officiating. Interment was in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eddie Harris, Kerry and Kevin Faulkner, Bill Topolsky, David Campbell, Jim Partin, Mike Pace, Dennis Myers. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Hill, Sam Martin, Mitch Topolsky, Arnold Disney, Milford Tate, Vernon Calhoun, Ralph Williams, Darrell Hart, Roy Johnson, and Burlin Davis.
