From: KyArchives [Archives@genrecords.org] Sent: Wednesday, October 27, 2004 10:11 PM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Briscoe-to-McGinniss.1810.Mercer.DEED Jesse McGinnis - Jeremiah Briscoe 1810 Mercer County KyArchives Deed Written: 1810 Recorded: August 29 1810 Deed Book 9, page 450 This Indenture made this [blank] Day of [blank] 1810 Between Jeremiah Briscoe and Elizabeth his wife of Mercer County and state of Kentucky of the one part & Jesse McGinniss of said county and state of the other part witnesseth that the said Jeremiah Briscoe and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt wherof they do hereby acknowledge, have given, granted, bargained, sold, aliened, and confirmed, and by these presents do give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, and confirm, unto the said Jesse McGinniss and his heirs forever one certain tract or parcel of land containing sixty acres, situate, lying and being in Mercer county on the waters of Chapline and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at a Beech a corner to Joel Compton thence East 100 poles to a sugar tree and two Hickories; thence south 96 poles to two Beech trees in Sam'l McGinniss's line thence west 100 poles to the Begginning with its appurtinances. To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of land with its appurtinances to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Jesse McGinniss and his Heirs forever. And the said Jeremiah Briscoe and Elizabeth his wife for themselves their Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and assigns, the said land premises unto the said Jesse McGinniss and his Heirs shall, and will forever warrant and defend against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever.
