BIO: Brock, R. M. s/o Brock, Elizabeth McKinley - Unknown Co BROCK, MCKINLEY, GOSS "HISTORY OF LAWRENCE, ORANGE AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES, INDIANA" GOODSPEED BROS. 1884 JACKSON TOWNSHIP, WASHINGTON COUNTY, INDIANA PAGE 921 F. M. BROCK was born in Clark County, Ind., on the 2d of November, 1834, being the eighth of a family of eleven children, born to George W. and Elizabeth (McKinley) Brock. The father was a native of Virginia, and the mother, of Kentucky. They removed to Indiana at a very early day, settling in Clark County, where they remained until their deaths. The subject of this sketch had very limited advantages of schools, and received a meager education, and was raised at hard work. He remained with his parents until he reached his twenty-second year, when he engaged in coopering. In 1859 his marriage with Serilda Goss was solemnized, and to this union have been born ten children, six of whom are now living: Alexander, Ellen, Laura (dead), Ephraim (dead), Charley, Lafayette, Kate, Mary, and two infants (dead), unnamed. In politics he is a stanch Republican, and by occupation, a farmer and stock-raiser. The township has no better citizen. Transcribed by: Diana Flynn Date: 1 Sep 1997
