He was born in Beverly, on July 5, 1921, the son of the late Wilk and Emma Taylor Brock. He believed in the Pentecostal Faith and had been a coal miner for Consolidation Coal and Crockett Coal Companies. He was a member of the UMWA. Mr. Brock served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Caldwell Brock, children, Winslow, Vestina and Denver Brock and brother, Carter Brock. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Esther and Larry Humfleet of Clear Creek, Lorraine and John Saylor of Arjay, Judy and Jeff Lambdin of Sevierville, TN, Lowell and Rita Brock of Prestonsburg, Gary Wayne and Lynn Brock of East Pineville and Jim Brock of Stoney Fork, daughter-in-law, Bertha Buis of Middlesboro, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Marlin Brock, Ford Brock, Baxter Brock Sarah Asher, Debbie Asher, Opal Lee Asher, Ruby Swallows and Thelma Brock and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at two p.m. Tuesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Rev. Macel Ely. Music will be by Kathy Brock, Della Mae Asher, Opal Lee Asher and Mickey Wilder. Burial will be in the Jim Brock Cemetery at Clear Creek. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at the Pineville Community hospital and the girls at Community Trust in Pineville. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.
