This Indenture made this twenty first day of March one Thousand seven hundred and ninety six Between Edward BROWNFIELD and Mary his wife of the County of Hardin and state of Kentucky of the one part and Savanah BRISCOE of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred pounds to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have granted Bargained alien sell and conveyed unto Savanah BRISCOE of the County of Washington and state aforesaid one Certain tract of Land containing four hundred acres by survey bearing date the twenty first day of December one thousand seven hundred and ninety four Eighty four lying and being in the County of Hardin and state aforesaid on both sides Nolin creek adjoining Peter BEN_____ Jadiah ASHCRAFT and Isaac DY and bounded as follows (Towit) Beginning at a dead Black oak and Hickory on a brush Ridge running thence south fifteen degrees East three hundred and thirty Eight poles to two dogwoods thenc e south thirty six degrees west two hundred and thirty eight poles to a stake in the plains thence north forty two degrees west two hundred and sixty poles to a stake in the plains thence west ten degrees East two hundred and forty poles to the Beginning with the appertenances To have and to hold said tract of Land and its appertenances ___ Edward BROWNFIELD and Mary his wife do warrant and for ever defend __ said Land with its appertenances unto the said BRISCOE and ___ heirs for ever will warrant and defend said Land in witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the date above written Edward BROWNFIELD Ben HELM Ben WRIGHT Charles LEE

At a court held for Hardin County on Tuesday the 23rd day of March 1796 the foregoing deed from Edward BROWNFIELD to Savannah BRISCOE for four hundred acres of Land was proved by the oaths of Ben HELM Ben WRIGHT and Charles LEE subscribing witnesses thereto and was ordered to be recorded
