A native of Montgomery county, he was the son of James Browning, Montgomery county, and the late Mrs. Lottie Wren Browning. He was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nannie Katherine Browning; three daughters, Mrs. David Leggett, Miss Clarene Browning and Miss Caroline Browning, all of Montgomery county; his father James Browning, and four brothers, Frank, Charlie, Albery, and Robert Browning , all of Montgomery county. Funeral services at the Grace tabernacle, Sharpsburg by the Rev. E. L. Wagoner and the Rev. Frank Shields. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery. The body was taken from the Mitchell-Douglas funeral home here to the residence.
