Abram Bruner Lives To Be A Great-Grandfather.  Devoted Member Presbyterian 
Church.

Harned, Aug. 22 (Special)

On August 15, 1920 at 7:30p.m. Abram Bruner beloved husband, father, 
grandfather and great-grandfather departed this life after a lingering illness 
of many months.  He bore his suffering with the fortitude of a noble soldier of 
the cross.  He was born October 12, 1842, departed this life August 15, 1920.  
Age 77 years, 10 months and 3 days.  His first marriage was to Miss Matildia 
Chaudion, to this union five children were born, two sons survive, James, of 
Peewee Valley, Ky.; and Clive, of Metropolis, Ill. Deceased, Mrs. James 
Nichols, Mrs. John Nichols and one girl dying in infancy.

Second marriage to Miss Fannie Macy to this union six children were born, one 
dying in infancy.  The surviving are as follows - Mrs. T. C. Dyer, Mrs. Will 
Davis, Mrs. Oscar Davis, Mrs. John Carman and Carl, all of this county.  He 
professed faith in God about the year 1870 at "Old" Pleasant Grove and united 
with the Cumberland Presbyterian church at the same time.

Some twenty-five years ago he was elected ruling elder in the church and 
remained faithful until death.  Bro. Bruner's work on earth is finished.  He 
was laid to rest in the family burying ground in the presence of a host of 
friends and relatives.  Funeral conducted by writer.

He was heard to say many times in the last few weeks, "I amonly waiting for the 
final summons when I shall cross over the river of death and be with my Saviour 
and my many friends where there will be no more good-bys."

His last prayer was, "Lord grant that I might go quick and easy."  The Lord 
granted his request, in that, it was momentarily and without a strugle.  We 
would commend the family to Him who said, "I will be a father to the fatherless 
and a husband to the widow."  Also to the words of the poet:

"Oh, how sweet it will be in that beautiful land,
So free-from all sorrow and pain;
With songs on our lips and with harps in our hands,
To meet one another again.

"That unchangeable home is for you and for me.
Where Jesus of Nazareth stands.
The Kin of all kingdoms for ever, is He.
And he holdeth our crowns in His hands."
