Bryant, Oldest local resident dies at century mark. The oldest living resident of Simpson County has died at the age of 100. William C. Bryant died early yesterday morning at the Franklin Simpson Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He had lived in Simpson County for the past 50 years and was a retired employee of the Simpson County Lumber Company. The body is at Booker Funeral Home where services will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning with Rev. Haskel Akins officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn. He was a native of Warren County and the son of the late John Henry and Sarah Gibson Bryant.
