From: KyArchives [Archives@genrecords.org] Sent: Friday, October 29, 2004 11:00 PM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Caldwell-to-McGinnis.1822.Mercer.DEED Thomas McGinnis - Davis Caldwell March 4 1822 Mercer County KyArchives Deed Written: March 4 1822 Recorded: March 4 1822 Deed Book 12, page 304 This Indenture made this 4th day of March 18822 [sic] between Davis Caldwell of the County of Mercer and State of Kentucky of the one part and Thomas McGinnis of the County and State afsd. of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of twenty Dollars in hand paid by the said Thomas McGinnis the receipt where of he doth hereby Acknowledge he the said Davis hath sold to the said Thomas and by these presents doth sell Alien and confirm to the Thomas and heirs a certain tract or parcel of land Containing two Acres situated beying [sic] and being on the waters of Quirks Run in Mercer County and Bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at a stone on Francis Neffs line thence with the land of Davis Caldwell N72-1/2E 103 poles to a Beach and ash in Irvines line thence with the land of the said Irvin S7-1/2E [ink smudge] poles to a stone in the same line and Corner to other land of the aforesaid Thomas McGinnis thence S77-1/4W 101 poles to the ????? of Beginning to have and to hold the afore said ["Thomas McGinnis" crossed out] Tract of land with its appertenances to the Said Thomas McGinnis and his heirs forever And the Said Davis Caldwell doth by these presents agree to Warrant and forever Defend the Said land with its appertenances to the Said Thomas McGinnis and his heirs against the Claim or Claims of him and his heirs and all & every other person or persons whatosever. In Witness Whereof the Said Davis Caldwell hath hereunto Set his hand and affixed his Seal the day & Year aforesaid.
