Deed Book A p. 60 Know all men by these presents that I Levi CARICO of the County of Spencer and State of Kentucky have for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I Bear Toward my Daughter ELIZABETH NEWMAN and for the Consideration of the sum of one Dollar to me in hand paid... Give grant Bargain and Sell to the said ELIZABETH and her Husband EZEKIEL NEWMAN the following Property viz.: one negro girl named LYDIA ANN aged about fourteen years & her Increase and one Negro Girl slave named SUSA aged about nine years and her increase. The Two Negros amounting in value to Seven hundred and Fifty Dollars also one mare, Bed Bedstead and Furniture and one hundred and Fifty Dollars one Cow at Fifteen Dollars, One Bureau at Twenty Dollars, one set of Silver Spoons and caster (?) at Eleven Dollars and Fifty Cents, one table at Seven Dollars and one Set of Knives and forks at Three Dollars Amounting in all in the whole to the sum of Nine Hundred & forty one Dollars and fifty Cents... But it is understood that in the Event of the Said ELIZABETH NEWMAN Dying without Children that then and in that case the said Negro Slaves LYDIA ANN and SUSAN shall revert back and Become the Property of Said LEVI CARICO and his heirs but not their increase.
