Glasgow (KY) Weekly Times, 16 Sept 1896

"MR. ELISHA CHEATHAM, at one time Deputy Circuit Clerk of Barren, died at the 
home of his sister, Mrs. William Amos, in the Beaver Creek country, last 
Sunday night. Elisha Cheatham was one of the cleverest of men, and during his 
whole life never harmed, or wounded the feelings of, a human being. He has 
many friends who will sorrow to hear of this death, althoughg, in that it was 
the culmination of a long period of ill-health, it was not unexpected. His 
remains were interred in the Amos graveyard, near where he lived."
