WILL: Cobb, 1836, Estill Co Jesse Cobb Will Jan 18, 1836 Court House, Irvine, Kentucky In the name of God Amen I hereby ordain and establish this my last will and testament I wish to be buried in decent Christian like manner, and I hope the Lord will receive my spirit to himself, and first appoint my son-in-law John Stofer and my son Jesse Cobb my executors to this my last Will. Second I wish all my lawful debts paid and I wish my son Jesse to collect the money that is due me this winter and pay what I owe, if there is enough, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Eady, during her normal life, four negros named Ellick, Saul, Caroline and Susan. as much of the household, and kitchen furniture as she wants one cart two yoke of oxen, four head of the choice house beasts, four cousten sheep and twenty hogs, and my said wife is to remain on the place like now live till her death, and my son Jesse and son Richard is to take charge of the negroes and property which I have given to my wife for lifetime and use therein and support their mother for lifetime and at her death then the said negroes and property to be equally divided among my eight oldest children or their legal heirs though her negroes to be relieved/divided or sold among the - ---oldest but the other two --- to John and Samuel is to have their equal part all my estate of every kind is to remain as it now is until the first day of November next at which time the executors may proceed safely. I give to my son Richard the tract of land I now live on except that part which lies below the branch up to where the line between my old tract and the tract formerly owned by Richard Oldham crossed the branch, one negro boy named Whaller the ----- mar----- he now owns one bed the furniture one cow one ----- and one suit of clothes say worth fifty dollars.
