Sarah Ann Cooney was the d/o John Daniel Cooney and Mary "Polly" Keown. This was the first marriage for Sarah. She was 14 yrs of age when they married. Lewis was 22. They would have one daughter, Mary Bell; and Lewis would die during the Civil War, in Mt.Sterling,KY, from Measles & pneumonia. He would never see battle. He died March 27, 1864. She died in 1904.
