From: KyArchives [archives@genrecords.org] Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2008 6:20 PM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Coonrod.Joseph.1806.Harrison.WILL Joseph Coonrod July 11, 1806 Harrison County KyArchives Will Source: Will Book A, Pg. 65 Harrison County, Kentucky Written: July 11, 1806 Recorded: August 22, 1806 Will Book A, pg. 65 Harrison County, Kentucky Be It Remembered that I Joseph Coonrod of the county of Harrison and State of Kentucky Being of the weak in the body but sound in the mind do establish and ordain this as my last will and testament in the manner as followeth to with 1st It is my wish that my executor sell such perchasable property as he may think proper to pay of all my legal and just Debts, 2nd It is my will and Desire that my beloved wife Cathirina to have and hopes all the balances of my personal or perishable and real property-during her life and at her death that there shall be an equal division amongst all my Children except fifteen pounds give my Son Sam it more than the rest never the less. I leave it to my wife to give any property to any one or more of my Children that she may think proper to share at any time all to have an equal share, 3rd It is my will and Desire that my land the place I know live on be divided amongst my three sons John, Benjamin & Samuel Coonrod equally in quanity and quality but my son Samuel to have the house I now live in in his part 4th It is my will and desire if my three sons Cannot agree in the Division that the sould call on three or five men in thy neighbour hood to make the Division- 5th it is my will and Desire that my three sons shall pay the Different Sums Alurenced to their Names to my four Daughters Cathirina Anderson, Salouse Holbert, Margaret Coonrod, Elizabeth Coonrod forty two pound Ten shillings each that is to say my Sons John & Benjamin is to pay sixty four pound three shillings each and my Son Samuel to pay forty one pound this teer Shillings to be considered my Daughters equal share of the palnation. the above mentioned land I have given to my three sons It is my will and desirethat there shall be no divisionof the above mentioned tract of land until my son Samuel arrives of age worth in during my wife life on her approbation. It is my will and desire that my Benjamin & Samuel and my Daughter Elizabeth be sent to scholl So that they may get good common education and after their schooling if my two Sons Should be Disobedient to their Mother my will is that my wife and executors Should bind them to some good trade out their direction It is my will and Desire that my son Samuel shoulde pay his Sister Elizabeth legacy and that my other sons should pay their sisters their legacy in rotation that is to saythe oldest first and so on annually and whereas I give to my son John a rifle Gun and willing do Justice I do hereby give to my son Benjamin in the Rifle Gun I now have being the one I bought for him and I do Direct and Request that my Executors buy as Good a one for my Son Samuel to be be paid foor out of my estate And lastly I constitute and appoint my son John Coonrod and my faithful friend John Rolston as Executors of this my last will and Testament as Witness my Hand and Seal this 11th July 1806 Joseph KR Coonrod LS Test W.E.
