A native of Pine Knot he was born March 17, 1890 to George and Olive Ball Cooper. His wife Mary Etta Carter Cooper, preceded him in death. Survivors include six children, George Cooper and Edwina Black, Tucson, Ari., Ruth Smith, Danville and Mae Ball, Mable McDonald and Lois Troxell of Revelo. Four children and a sister preceded him in death. Other survivors include 28 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren. A member of the First Hickory Grove Baptist Church, he was a retired miner. Funeral services were held April 29 at 2 p.m. at the church by Revs. Howard Davenport and Loyd King. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery.
