Retired farmer, sawmill operator, had been a partner in Cropper Brother Lumber Co. U S Army veteran of WW II where he was a Corporal serving the 37th Combat Engineeres. Participated in the D-Day invasion of Omaha Beach, was awarded four Bronze Stars during his three years of service.
