He was then 74 years of age and so born in 1760. The place of his birth is not given in his pension application but in March, 1870, his father and family emigrated from Redstone, Pa., to the mouth of Bear Grass Creek near the Falls of the Ohio. In the same month they took refuge in the Fort on account of Indian attacks. They remained in the Fort until December and Timothy Corn served as a guard under Captain Richard Chenoweth and Colonel Linn, commandant of the Fort. In December Timothy and his father left the Fort and went to Mercer County Kentucky, in the neighborhood of McGary's Fort. Timothy enlisted there in the spring of 1781. He enlisted again and in the fall of 1782 and served for another short time. Meanwhile he had service in scouting trips and he states in his application that his entire service included "upwards of sixteen months." All his service was under Colonel George Rogers Clark in Virginia troops. He married in Harrodsburg, Mercer County Kentucky. Mrs. Elizabeth Yeast. The marriage bond is dated June 23, 1831. As he was then 71 years of age it is probable that the marriage was his second as well as his wife's second. After the death of Timothy Corn the widow stated that her son was married in April after her marriage to Timothy Corn in the previous July. This son was probably named Yeast, although his name is not given in her pension application.
