Lester Eugene Crabtree, 49, of Stearns died August 25 at the VA Hospital in 
Dayton, Ohio after a lingering illness.  A native of McCreary County, he was 
born February 15, 1927 to the late Isham and Bertha Tabitha Crabtree. He was a 
factory worker and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.  Survivors include 
five brothers, Laughton, Ashbury, Junior, Earnest and L.D. Crabtree; three 
sisters Emma Thomas, Mary Ruth Huff and Anna Rose Morgan. One sister preceded 
him in death.  Funeral services were held August 29 at the McCreary County 
Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lester Troxell. Burial was in the Lower Hickory 
Grove Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were handled by the McCreary County 
Funeral Home.
