GEORGE C. CRIM is a native of Washington County, Ind., born in Jackson
Township, November 20, 1827.  He is the third in a family of eleven children
born to Jesse and Lucinda (Churchill) Crim, who were natives of the Blue
Grass State, the former coming to Indiana first in 1818, but returning to
his native State two years later, where he married, and again came to this
county, locating near Martinsburg.  In 1859 he immigrated to Illinois, where
he died the year following.  George C. Crim received a liberal education in
youth, and until twenty-seven years old assisted his parents on the farm.
April 2, 1855, his marriage with Miss Sallie Martin was solemnized, and to
their union have been born the following family of children:   Mary A.,
Lucinda C., Lizzie A., Edmund T., William W. and John L.  Mr. Crim is justly
recognized as one of the leading farmers and stock-raisers of his township,
and the fruit of his life's labor is revealed in a well improved farm
containing 280 acres of good land.  As a Republican in politics he takes an
active interest in the leading issues of the day, and twice has been called
upon to administer to the office of Township Trustee.  He and wife are
members of the Christian Church, and are well known and highly respected 
people.
