Deed Bk A, p 41-43 CROW; PATTON; TODD; SMILEY; LASHLY; WILLIAMS; SHANNON; ROBERTS; CRAIG This Indenture made this Sixth day of April One thousand Seven hundred and ninety three between John CROW and Elizabeth his Wife of Mercer County of the One part and Ebenezer PATTON of Nelson County of the other part Witnesseth that the said John CROW and Elizabeth his Wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of Sixty Pounds to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge __ the said John CROW and Elizabeth his Wife have granted bargained sold, aliened and Confirmed and by these Presents do grant bargain and sell alien and Confirm unto the said Ebenezer PATTON his Heirs and Assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing Four hundred acres lying being and situate in the County of Shelby on the waters of BRASHEARs Creek running on the side of a branch at a white ash and two Beech trees the beginning corner of James PATTONs, Benjamin POPEs and Mark THOMAS Thirty thousand Acre Survey running thence with their Line North 20 East 342 poles crossing two branc hes to a large Poplar and two Beech, thence South 70 East 187 poles crossing a branch to a Sugar tree and Beech on the bank, thence South 20 West 342 poles crossing a branch to a Stake on a line of said PATTONs and Co. Thirty thousand Acre Survey thence with said Line North 70 West 187 poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract of Land with all and singular its appurtenances unto the said Ebenezer his Heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Ebenezer his Heirs & assigns forever and the said John his Heirs Executors and Administrators do hereby warrant and forever defend the tract of Land with all the Appurtenances unto him the said Ebenezer his Heirs and Assigns against the claim or claims of all and every other Person whatsoever. In Witness whereof I the said John & Elizabeth his Wife have hereunto set our hands and Seals the day & year above written.
