DEED: Jackson, 1864, Fleming Co Jackson, James C. to Damon, George E., Sheriff's Deed Fleming Co., KY Deed Book 36, pg. 1-2 This Indenture made and entered into this the 19th day of Feb 1864 between Benjamin Botts as the duly qualified and acting sheriff of Fleming County state of Kentucky of the one part and George E Damon of the other part Witnesseth that whereas three Several Executions viz:one in favor of David Jones against James C. Jackson for $110.00 debt with legal interest from the 25th day of December 1862 until paid and $2.25 costs bearing date onthe 7th day of Decr. and Issued from the office of the Clerk of the Fleming Circuit court directed to the Sheriff of Fleming county in favour of David Jones and against James C. Jackson returnable to the February rule? day 1864. Also one in favor of A. D. Bishop against James C. Jackson for $305. 62/100 with legal interest fromt he 1st May 1862 until paid and $4.60 costs subject to a credit for $153. 57/100 bearing date on the 7th day of Decr. 1863 also one in favor of Emmons & Snelling against James C. Jackson for $111. 22/100 with interest from 2nd January 1862 until paid and $10.40 costs subject to a credit of $65.00 paid 2nd Day of Decr. 1862 Also one in favor of David Jones against James C. Jackson for $90.00 with interest from the 26th day of December 1862 until paid and $7.30 costs. Which Several Executions of Vendioum? exponas came to the hands of Charles Williams Deputy Sheriff of Benjamin Botts Sheriff of Fleming County and by him was levied upon the undivided half of the Jackson Mill property on Fleming Creek enbracing the Land & appurtenances thereunto belonging being the undivided interest of the said James C. Jackson the Defendant in said Executions therein Which being duly advertised & appraised according to Law, the same was on the 28th day of December 1863 being County Court day at the court house door in Flemings being duly exposed to Public Sale and then & there Thomas Maxey and H. L. Maxey became the purchasers of said interest at the price of $400. 35/100 they being the highest bidders the benefit of which purchase they have transfered by writing in due form and directed to said Sheriff to convey the same to the said George E. Damon the party of the second part Now in consideration of the premises & the fact that the same sold for more than 2/3 of its appraised value as done and returned. Said Charles Williams Deputy of said Benjamin Botts sheriff of the first part and the said Geo. E. Damon demanding a conveyance said Benjamin Botts as Sheriff &c of the first part does hereby convey, release & confirm into the said Geo. E. Damon all the right title & interest of the said Execution defendant James C. Jackson in &to that tract or parcel of Land also sold under said Executions and bounded as follows Viz: All the Mill Stone dwelling house, all the Land about 7 or 8 acres on which they are situated & adjoining the same and the same as bounded described and named in the Deed therefor from A. D. Bishop to said James C. Jackson & A. M. Jackson recorded in Deed book No. 33 page 485 of the record of the Clerks office of the Fleming County court and bearing date 8 December 1838 to which reference is made. To have & to hold the same against the said Execution Defendant James C. Jackson his heirs & assigns forever. In testimony Whereof the said Ben Botts as Sheriff aforesaid has hereunto set his hand and seal the day & date above mentioned.
