From: KyArchives [archives@genrecords.org] Sent: Tuesday, June 12, 2007 11:45 AM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Culver.Benjamin-Davis.Giles.1805.Bullitt.DEED Benjamin Culver - Giles Davis September 17, 1805 Bullitt County KyArchives Deed Written: September 17, 1805 Recorded: September 17, 1805 Bullitt Co., KY Deed Bk B, p 22 DAVIS; CULVER: GRAYSON This Indenture made this seventeenth day of September in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and five Between Giles DAVIS and Nancy his wife of the county of Bullitt and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and Benjamin CULVER of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Giles DAVIS and Nancy his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars current money of the United States of America to them in hand paid before the sealing and delivery ____ the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain and sell alien release convey and confirm unto the said Benjamin CULVER his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing fifty acres conveyed by Deed recorded in the late Quarter Session Court of Bullitt County from John GAITHER and wife to the said Giles DAVIS and situate lying and being in the county of Bullitt and bounded as follows towit Beginning at four beeches a corner of Samuel SIMMONS thence North, sixty five and one quarter degrees west thirty poles to two beeches thence south westerly ___ East one hundred twenty five poles to ___ and Beech & Hickory thence North sixty five and one quarter degrees and three quarter degrees East one hundred and three poles to two beeches and Gum thence North twenty four and three quarter degrees West fifty eight poles to three dogwoods & Elm thence South sixty five and one quarter degrees West seventy three poles to two dogwoods Beech and Sugartree, thence North twenty four and three quarter degrees West fifty seven poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances To have and to hold the said fifty acres of land with all and singular the appurtenance and heritements thereunto belonging unto the said Benjamin CULVER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof and the said Giles DAVIS and Nancy his wife for themse lves their heirs Executors and administrators do further covenant and agree to and with the said Benjamin CULVER his heirs Executors administrators and assigns that they will forever warrant and defend the sd fifty acres of land unto the said Benjamin CULVER his heirs and assigns against them the sd Giles DAVIS and Nancy his wife their heirs and against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said Giles DAVIS and Nancy his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written Giles DAVIS [seal] Signed sealed & delivered Nancy her [X] mark DAVIS [seal] In Presence of Bullitt County Sct To all whom it may concern I Frederic William Spence GRAYSON Clerk of the County Court of said County do make known that on the seventeenth day of September 1805 Giles DAVIS & Nancy his wife a party to this Indenture personally before me acknowledged the same to be their voluntary act of Deed and that the said Nancy having been first examined by me privily and apart from her said husband declared that she made her said acknowledgement of her own free will and record without the persuading or threats of her said husband __ ____ ______ of his _________ and that she wished not to retract her said acknowledgement and that she consented the said Indenture might be recorded which was thereby __ ______ and explained to her and that I have recorded the said Indenture in my office as required by law Witnesseth my hand this 22nd day of November 1805 Fred W.
