Deed Book C p. 23 29 May 1830 Nancy Davis, widow and Elijah Davis and Margaret his wife and Nancy Davis of Nelson County, William M. Davis of Ohio County and Presley Davis and Ann his wife, Wilson L/S. Davis and Meriel his wife, Legrand F. Rucker and Harriett his wife, formerly Harriett Davis of the first part and James F. Moore of the second part, all of Kentucky. Witnesseth: that whereas Jesse Davis in his life time towit on the 24 day of March 1815 sold to the party of the second part a tract of land in then County of Shelby, now Spencer on the waters of Elk Creek containing one hundred and twenty five acres for the sum of eight hundred and fifty dollars and received the purchase money and executed his bond for the conveyance thereof with covenant of general warranty and departed this life without passing the title therefore leaving the above [parties of the first part] his legal heirs and representatives... the same have given granted bargained and sold same [ deed is too damaged to make out the description of the land] (signed) Nancy Davis Elijah Davis P.
