He was the son of the late Dudley Ewing and Florence Oregon Brooks Dean. Mr. Dean had lived in Middlesboro for several years and was a member of Ingle's Chapel Methodist Church, Rose Hill, Virginia. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Cora E. Yeary Dean, Middlesboro; two sons, Lon Dean of Morristown, Tennessee, and Oscar Dean of Middlesboro; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Millard Daniel Dean of Sneedville, Tennessee; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Cathern "Katie" Akers, Mrs. Pearlie E. Akers, and Mrs. Mossie Buchanan, all of Pineville, Kentucky and Mrs. Laura Chadwell of Middlesboro. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:00 PM at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Marvin Keaton, the Rev. Clarence Lambdin, and the Rev. Ralph Berry will officiate. Pallbearers will be Leland Idol, Billy R. Ayers, William Hurst, Otis Daniels, George Carter and Hagan Chadwell. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Cawood Funeral Home is in charge. Dean in 1961; and survived by a half-brother, Floyd Patton Dean of Kansas. Roselawn Memorial Gardens is now Green Hills Cemetery in Middlesboro. Alva Preston Dean was my g.uncle.
