Trent-Dowell Funeral Home Obituary Listings Donna Jean Dietrich, 56, of Hardinsburg, Kentucky, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at her home at Rough River Lake. She is survived by her life partner, Rebecca Hinton, her father, James H. Dietrich of Hiawassee, Georgia; two step sons and family, Brad and Stephanie Hinton of Philpot, Kentucky, and Todd and Sharon Hinton of Prince George, British Columbia, Canada; four grandchildren, Samantha Hinton of British Columbia, Alex Hinton of Tell City, Indiana, and Dylan Hinton and Logan Hinton of Philpot, Kentucky.

Donna was originally from Springfield, Illinois, and had worked as a women’s drug and alcohol counselor and a registered nurse there. She later worked in Georgia and North Carolina for many years as an Emergency Room nurse and Director of Nursing, in Georgia and North Carolina, and was a Nursing Supervisor at Brithaven Nursing Facility in Franklin, North Carolina. She has been a Hospice nurse and Home Health nurse in her nearly 30-year nursing career.

Donna was an avid traveler . She enjoyed boating and camping. She was the co-owner of Coyote Moon Homestead, a self-sufficient homestead at Axtel, KY where she raised a large organic garden, dairy goats and was training a donkey.

A memorial service will be held at her home on Saturday, May 31, at 2 pm. Memorial Donations should be made to Hospice.
