DOUGLASS April 14, 1899 Breckinridge County KyArchives Obituaries Breckinridge News, Cloverport, Ky., Wednesday, April 19, 1899 Page 1 DEATH -- The remains of Orestes DOUGLASS who died at the insane asylum at Hopkinsville (Christian County), Ky., of acute peritonitis last Friday (April 14, 1899), were brought to this city (Cloverport), and were interred at the local cemetery (Cloverport Cemetery). He was the brother of Mrs. James E. STONE of Louisville (Jefferson County), Ky. Mr. DOUGLASS was 52 years of age. The funeral was held at the home of Col. David R. MURRAY, and the services were conducted by the Reverend T. V. JOINER. Mr & Mrs James STONE of Louisville, on account of the suddenness of his death, were the only relatives of the deceased present. Orestes DOUGLASS was a native of New York state, and was related to Alonzo BISHOP, the former proprietor of the Tar Springs property, and the Cloverport Hotel, and lived with the latter in this city for a number of years.
