Glasgow (KY) Daily TImes, Friday, 5 July 1974.
"James A. Downing, 58, Died, Services Held Friday, 2 p.m. James Aldridge
Downing, 58, 714 Leslie Avenue, died Wednesday at Samson Community Hospital
after a short illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hatcher
and Saddler Funral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. He is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Downing, one daughter, Mrs. Martha Rogers,
Russellville, two sons, Joe Burton Downing, Glasgow, Jimmy Downing, San Diego,
California, two sisters, Mrs. Joe Burks, Horse Cave, Mrs. Sarah Taylor, Bowling
Green, four brothers, Alex Downing, Louisville, Dero Downing and George Downing,
both of Bowling Green, Dudley Downing, Paris, France and two grandchildren.
