Graduated from Temple Hill High School, outstanding athlete in football, basketball, baseball and track. Was a 1964 graduate of Western Kentucky University where he played baseball all four years, was a member of the "W" Club. During the season of 1964, he was the acting assistant baseball coach. Because of his love of sports he became a highs school coach. At Hiseville he coached football, JV basketball and boys' track and started his teaching career. He later taught and coached at Glasgow High and Allen County High schools. While at Allen County he started the first varsity football team. He ended his 30 year teaching and coaching career at Glasgow Middle School where he taught social studies and coached eighth grade football and girls' basketball. He was an umpire for the Glasgow Recreation Department during summer months and also played for the Groce Oil Softball Team and the American Legion Baseball Team. He was a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ.
