Private in the company commanded by Capt. THOMPSON in VA Militia for 5 months in 1781. Inscribed on KY Roll at $20 per year to begin 4 Mar 1831. Certificate of Pension issued 28 Jan 1834. In his deposition given 11 Nov 1833 he stated that he was 72 years old. Entered the army as a volunteer Feb 1781 in Halifax Co VA where he was raised and born. He served under Capt John THOMPSON. Served 6 weeks except last 2 or 3 days when he was sent home on account of sicknes. In April of the same year he was drafted for 4 months and served under Captain Paran? BOOKER who was displaced; and then was commanded by Capt. Wm CLARK. He was again drafted in Sept of the same year and served under Capt. Wm McDANIEL. He was furloughed on account of sickness.
