McGinnis - John Dye January 8 1863 Boyle County KyArchives Deed Written: January 8 1863 Recorded: December 31 1863 Book 8, page 513 This Indenture made this the 8th day of January 1863 between John Dye and Elizabeth Dye his wife of the County of Boyle and State of Kentucky of the first part and William W. McGinnis of the County and State aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Seven hudnred and forty Eight 80/100 dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the said John Dye and Elizabeth his wife hath granted bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant bargain, Sell, alien and convey unto the said Wm. W. McGinnis and his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate and lying in the county of Boyle and State of Kentucky on the waters of Chaplin and bounded as follows beginning at a stone 12 fe etNorthofaStablecornertoS.TevisthenceS86- 3/4W 57-48/100 poles to a stone in said Tevis' line. Thence S3E 49-64/100 poles to a stake corner to Wm. Tewmey. Thence E 83-16/100 poles to an old Buckeye stump corner to Wm. Tewmey. Thence with his line N. 52-8/100 poles to a stone corner to said Tevis. Thence N88W 28-48/100 poles to the beginning, containing twenty six acres two roods and 39 square poles exclusive of a road hereinafter mentioned, fifteen feet wide Beginning at the Southwest corner of said tract, running thence E 38-24/100 poles, N28-3/4E 18 poles, N67-3/4E 33 poles, N49-1/2E 8 poles to said Wm. Tewmey's line, the said road is saved and excepted from this indenture and remains the land of John Dye the same as if this Deed had not been made. Together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise pertaining not excepted in this Deed to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed to Wm W. McGinnis and his heirs and assigns forever, and the said parties of the first part for themselves their heirs Executors &c doth by these presents covenant and agree to warrant and defend the title to the aforesaid land against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever. The same was again produced on the 31st December 1863 and acknowledged by Elizabeth Dye his wife in due form of law, and upon the same is the required U. S.
