I Benjamin Dyer of the county of Christian state of Kentucky, being sick and weak in body But soud in mind and memory (praised be to God for same), being desirous to settle my worldly affairs while I have strength and capacity so to do. Making and publishing my last will and testament, first and principally I recommend my mind and sole to my Creator who gave it and my body to this earth, and as regards my worldly affairs I dispose of as followeth to wit, first I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Elinor Dyer after all my just debts are paid, one negro man by the name of Sam, during her natural Life; I also give and bequeath to my said wife all the rest and residue of my estate, real & personal, of what kind soever, during her natural Life and Widowhood, and it is my desire if my wife should marray or not[?] marray then and in that case it is my wish that she should take one third of my Estate and the balance my son Albert G Dyer is to have if he be of age. It also my will and desire that my son Albert G Dyer be well educated both in Arithmetic and Grammar out of my said estate if my said son dies before he arrives to the age of twenty one it is my will that William and Robert Patton sons of my said wife should have the amount that I rec'd [?] by my said wife and it is my will that the balance shall be equally divided between my brothers John Dyer, Reuben Dyer, Mathew Dyer, Parkam Dyer & Hanah Riddle, Esther Trumbo, and Jane Dyer.
