EDWARDS - Louisville Courier-Journal. "Mr. William B. Edwards, a Deputy Commissioner of the Chancery Court, died Monday evening at 2:30 o'clock, of Consumption, at his residence, 914 Sixth Street. He was ill a long time, and had been unable to be at his desk since last November, but was not compelled to take to his bed until about three weeks ago. Only his remarkable vitality kept him alive so long. His suffering was deep, but he was conscious to the last and was perfectly resigned. Brief funeral services were held at the residence at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The Rev. Dr. Weaver, for whom Mr. Edwards had great admiration and regard, officiated. He delivered no formal service, but spoke a few words of comfort to the family and friends of the dead. The body will be taken to Munfordville this morning and buried by the side of his father. The pallbears will be: Messrs. Monroe Gibson, Will Edards, R. C. Tevis, and D. T. Durkwall. "The deceased was thirty-nine years old last December. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Edwards, of Munfordville, and a brother of Judge I. W. Edwards, of this city. He was for several years a deputy in the Hart County Circuit Clerk's office, and later was elected Clerk. This was about ten or twelve years ago. He was appointed a deputy in the Chancery Commissioner's office soon after taking up his residence here, and had held the place ever since. He was a most competent official, having an excellent practical knowledge of law and accounts. Only ill-health prevented him from making his mark in life. He possessed an uncommon power of winning and keeping friends, his manners being remarkably genial and happy and his disposition amiable and unselfish. He took a deep interest in politics, and in a quiet way exereted much influence. "Mr. Edwards was married about three years ago, his wife being Miss Ethel Bryant, of this city. He was a Mason and Knight of Honor."
